Sarasota's nickname is Paradise. With the #2 beach in the USA, golf courses, art, entertainment, tropical breezes and so much more, it appears to be well named. 

Sarasota includes several Keys (small islands); Lido Key, St. Armands Key, Otter Key, Coon Key, Bird Key, and portions of Siesta Key.

Forbes has named Sarasota one of the best places for business and careers, and Money magazine recognized it as the nation's best small city, one of the best places to retire, and one of the cities with the best health care systems.
